This winter season sure has been challenging, both here in Cedarburg and across the state of Wisconsin. Although it may not feel like it, however, spring is on the way!
It's during this time of the year that we like to provide our alumni, supporters and community members with some news and updates from our schools.
We have some exciting things to share with you, including:
Cedarburg Students Complete Civil Rights Mural
Cedarburg Sophomores Josh Bothe and Annika Prickett designed and completed a mural at Cedarburg High School commemorating renowned figures from the Civil Rights Movement. The mural includes figures like Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Ruby Bridges, who all played important roles in the fight for social and educational equality in the United States.
The students who completed the mural hope the art reminds people of the struggles of the Civil Rights Era and inspires them to strive for positive change.
We are incredibly proud of the students who took the initiative to bring such an amazing work of art to Cedarburg High School. The creativity and hours of work they put in to bring this project to fruition has been truly impressive.
CHS Athletic Booster Club Raises Funds for Field Upgrade
The Cedarburg School District is dedicated to providing exceptional academic and athletic programs to our students and, thanks to the CHS Athletic Booster Club, we are working to improve our programs even more.
The Booster Club is raising funds to upgrade the existing Cedarburg High School Athletic field with a high-tech turf field that would make it possible for practices and events to continue on, even if the weather does not cooperate. It would also improve safety for student-athletes and community members who use the field throughout the year.
Cedarburg Named #5 Best School District in Wisconsin
We are proud to share that the Cedarburg School District has been placed on Niche's list of the 2019 Best School Districts in Wisconsin. We claimed the number five spot on the list for our exceptional programming, unparalleled safety record and the range of extracurricular activities we offer students.
In addition, Cedarburg High School has been ranked as one of the best high schools in the nation. The rankings come from the U.S. News Best High Schools. We are thrilled that our district and high school have both been recognized by these national publications!
