Summer is a wonderful time in Cedarburg, giving our students, families and staff an opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy the nice weather and (for some) hit the road for a summer vacation! It's also a great time to reflect on some recent exciting news from the Cedarburg School District.
Below are just a few recent highlights we would like to share with you:
CHS named #1 school in Wisconsin
Cedarburg High School topped the list in the most recent US News and World Report 2019 rankings of the best schools in the state! Of 457 schools, 12 southeast Wisconsin schools reached the top 20, with CHS claiming the #1 spot for 2019. It's a tremendous milestone for our entire school district community!
Cedarburg alum appears on 'NCIS'
Cedarburg alumnus Kyle Grossmeyer moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting dreams, and he has now successfully landed a role in an "NCIS" episode that aired in April. Grossmeyer, who studied at UW-Whitewater and didn't start acting until the age of 22, started by taking improv classes at Milwaukee's Comedy Sportz. The episode aired April 9 on CBS.
District receives $100,000 donation for STEM programs
In an effort to improve access to engineering education and foster an interest in engineering among students, Wilo Co. has donated $100,000 for the district's engineering programs. Leadership at the company hopes to strengthen the community and fuel economic growth through the donation to Cedarburg schools. The district will use this funding to create more robust engineering curriculum and offer more engineering activities and tools for children starting in kindergarten all the way through 12th grade.
